Loyalty Card Terms & Conditions

Version 2026-08-12 · these are the terms currently in force.

These terms apply to the My Newport loyalty card. Please read them before you join — by enrolling you are agreeing to them. If there is anything here you are not happy with, please do not enrol.

1. Who runs the scheme

The My Newport loyalty card is operated by My Newport (“we”, “us”). We provide the card, the code you show, and the system that records your stamps.

We are the operator of the platform. We are not the provider of the rewards. That distinction matters and the rest of these terms depend on it.

2. Each business runs its own card

Every participating business sets up and runs its own loyalty card. It decides how many stamps are needed, what the reward is, how often a stamp can be earned, and whether to take part at all.

Your stamps and rewards are a matter between you and that business. Each business is solely responsible for honouring the rewards it has advertised, and for anything it gives you. We do not sell, supply, guarantee or stand behind those rewards, and we are not a party to any arrangement between you and a business.

If a business does not honour a reward, please take it up with them in the first instance. You are welcome to tell us as well — we will look into it, and we may remove a business from the scheme — but we cannot compel a business to provide a reward and we will not be providing it in their place.

3. A business can change, pause or stop its card at any time

A participating business may change its rewards, change how many stamps are required, pause its card, or withdraw from the scheme entirely, at any time and without notice. It may do so for any reason, including closing down or simply changing its mind.

If that happens, any stamps you have collected with that business may become worthless. Stamps are not a currency, they have no cash value, they cannot be exchanged for money, and they cannot be transferred to another business or another person.

We may also remove a business from the scheme, or suspend or close the scheme as a whole, at any time. We will give notice where it is reasonable to do so, but we may have to act immediately — for example where we suspect fraud.

4. Using your card honestly

By enrolling, you agree that:

  • your card is for you, and you will not share, sell or transfer your code;
  • you will only collect stamps for genuine transactions you have actually made;
  • you will not use the scheme dishonestly, or try to interfere with how it works.

We may remove stamps, cancel rewards, suspend your card or close your account if we reasonably believe the scheme is being misused. Where we can, we will tell you why.

5. Mistakes, glitches and things going wrong

This is a free service for a small town, run in good faith to send trade to local businesses. It is not a banking system and it should not be relied on as one.

Things that can and sometimes will go wrong include:

  • a stamp not registering, or registering twice;
  • a code expiring, being refused, or not scanning;
  • the site or the app being slow, unavailable or offline;
  • data being lost, delayed or incorrectly recorded;
  • a business recording something incorrectly.

We do not guarantee that the scheme will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for stamps, rewards or progress lost through any of the above. We will make reasonable efforts to put obvious errors right when they are reported to us, but we are not obliged to.

6. Our liability to you

Because the card is provided free of charge and the rewards are provided by other businesses, our liability to you is limited as far as the law allows.

We are not liable for any loss of stamps, rewards, opportunity, time or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of the scheme, from any business taking part in it, or from the scheme being changed, suspended or withdrawn.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect, and nothing here is intended to take those away.

7. Your information

To run your card we record your account details, which businesses you have collected stamps at, and when. A business you present your code to will see your name and your progress with that business — it will not see your activity anywhere else.

How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy & Cookie Policy.

8. Leaving the scheme

You can stop using your card at any time, and you can ask us to close your account. If you do, any stamps you have collected will be lost. We do not pay out for unredeemed stamps in any circumstances.

9. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If we make a change that materially affects you, we will ask you to agree to the new version before you can carry on using your card. The version in force is shown at the top of this page.

10. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
